(ORDO NEWS) — In the United States, a woman temporarily lost her ability to speak and ended up in the hospital after picking up a dollar bill from the ground. It is reported by the New York Post.
The incident occurred during the trip of Renee Parsons and her husband Justin to a conference in Dallas, Texas. On the way, the couple stopped at McDonald’s, and the woman noticed a bill lying on the ground. According to the American, she picked it up without hesitation.
Within minutes, Parsons was numb and could barely move or breathe.
“I felt a burning sensation that began in the area of \u200b\u200bthe shoulders, and then began to sink down.
As a result, my whole body became numb, ”she explained. Justin recalls what happened like this.
“At first she did not say anything, then she said that she was very sorry, confessed her love and fell silent.”
The man added that his wife turned pale and looked like she was dying.
Before losing consciousness, Parsons touched her husband with her hand, which picked up the bill. After this touch, Justin’s lips went numb, and a rash appeared on his arm.
He was afraid for the life of his beloved and his condition and went to the hospital. There, the victim was given the necessary assistance, and after four hours the symptoms began to subside.
Justin suspects that the bill was treated with fentanyl (an opioid analgesic), but this substance was not detected in the patient’s tests. Police analyzed the banknote and found no traces of fentanyl.
However, Parsons is convinced that the reaction of her body was caused by the effects of the drugs that were on the bill. She urged to be careful and not pick up other people‘s money.
Earlier it was reported that a resident of the city of Wallasey, Cheshire, UK, after undergoing surgery due to a stroke, lost the ability to speak and for some time could only sing.
The man decided that being sad about what had happened was a waste of time, and began working with a therapist to learn how to pronounce the words again.
