US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Windows Defender has detected a vulnerability that could be exploited by malicious users to spread malware. This was reported on the Windows Latest website.
In particular, users noted a failure during the anti-virus scan in the new Windows Defender update 4.18.2003 – the scan is interrupted after a few minutes and it is reported that no threats were detected on the device.
“It is unclear what elements were skipped during the scan, and it is also unknown whether Microsoft antivirus software is able to detect any threats in Windows 10,” the message said.
Other Windows OS problems are not affected.
A discovered vulnerability could threaten desktop wallet users due to the ever-increasing activity of hackers, Bitcoinist notes.
Recall that in February a modification of the Cerberus Trojan virus was detected, intercepting one-time passwords from the Google Authenticator application.
