(ORDO NEWS) — A teacher of righteousness is supposedly a person who copied a god-like figure with his words, beliefs and deeds. Who was he? Was he Jesus?
The Teacher of Righteousness is a figure found in the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran. Details about the Teacher of Righteousness were most vividly highlighted in the Damascus Document.
It is said that the Teacher of Righteousness was the one who foresaw the resurrection and crucifixion of Jesus. Consequently, it was this fact that received wide coverage in the press.
The people who make these claims are not only competent, but are outstanding scientists in their fields. The teacher referred to in the text is said to have had a deep understanding of the Torah and was also skilled in precision teaching.
It is said that he was the one with whom God was ready to reveal to the Jewish community the hidden things of Israel.
The exact identity of Master is still unknown! But according to the scroll of rules of the community, teachers have the status of kohanim or priests.
They are said to have been kohanim from Zadok’s bloodline. The teacher mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran is the first high priest to have served in Solomon’s Temple.
Therefore, this allowed scholars to assume that this Master was also a tzadokite kohen. The general audience still has much to learn about this Teacher of righteousness.
The teacher of righteousness depicted in the Dead Sea Scrolls belonged to the house of Israel. According to the Dead Sea Scrolls, he was born without a father.
The time of his birth fell on the era of the birth of Christianity. It is said that this Master’s mother dedicated his life to God. As a result, the Master of Righteousness grew up believing in the absolute oneness of God.
After that, he told the people that God had sent him as the Messiah for the Jews. His statements also mentioned that the Holy Spirit and the Almighty helped him.
It is believed that he interpreted the Torah under the guidance of God, but other Jewish priests opposed him. According to the scrolls, one of the chief priests of the Jewish community strongly opposed the Master. In the scrolls he is called “the wicked priest”!
The teacher of righteousness was severely persecuted, and some even tried to kill him. But the continuation of the scroll says that God saved the life of the best teacher!
Later, a wicked priest forced him to move to some distant country where his statements and words could be accepted. Before leaving the country, he made a prophecy for all those who were against him.
He said that God must punish all those who oppose the truth for the wrong decisions they made and for the iniquity.
He also said that people who follow him and believe in him will always win over those who reject his words, beliefs and statements.
The true identity of this Master is still a mystery, but there is debate as to whether the Master of righteousness could have been Jesus! This was suspected because he was given a very high status in the rolls of the community. The scriptures he offered were also added to the collection of scrolls.
Both Jesus and this Teacher of Righteousness preached poverty, humility, repentance, and love of innocence. Both of them also claimed to be God’s Messiah, who was born into this world to correct the mistakes of mankind. Therefore, it was a weighty argument in favor of the fact that Jesus himself, mentioned in the scrolls, could be the Teacher.
But all these facts are just assumptions and similarities. Therefore, the true identity of the Master is still considered unknown.
It was hard for Christians, Jews, and mainstream Muslims to believe that the Master was none other than Jesus. Everyone believed that he could not survive the crucifixion and go to the lost tribes of Israel.
But in 1981, the founder of the Muslim community, Ahmadiyya, received an Arabic revelation that Jesus, the Messenger of Allah, had died, and the Master had come in the form of his spirit, as promised. The revelation also said that the promises of Allah are always fulfilled!
It was truly amazing how the story of the Master in the scrolls was discovered 40 years after the death of the famous and promised Messiah, Jesus. The thoughts and beliefs of this Master of Righteousness are very similar to the thoughts and beliefs of Jesus. That is why people today believe that the Master was Jesus in another body.
He came back to this world in another body to deliver a message that was left unsaid!
This brief account proves that the Master of Righteousness was a leading religious figure in the 2nd century BC.
There is evidence that another Teacher of Righteousness led the sect in the 1st century BC, and finally there was another that appeared in the 1st century AD. It was all part of God’s plan to make the world aware of His presence. People who neglected their faith and conviction in God suffered the foreseeable consequences.
People who believed in the Teacher of Righteousness prospered by avoiding all possible conflicts and problems.
Hence, this is why Christianity believes in Jesus and his presence ever since. Perhaps the Teacher of Righteousness in the Dead Sea Scrolls is just one of the faces of God who tried to guide humanity in the right direction.
