US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — More than 150 countries still have less than 100 cases of new coronavirus, more aggressive measures will help them avoid major social and economic losses, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus said at a briefing in Geneva.
“Over 150 countries of the world still have less than 100 cases. If they take the same aggressive measures now, these states have a chance to prevent the spread of the virus and avoid the more severe social and economic losses that exist in other countries,” he said.
According to him, in particular, in sub- Saharan Africa there are still a little more than 1,400 cases of new coronavirus. If they immediately take aggressive measures to contain the disease, and also test and identify contacts, they can stop the spread of COVID-19, according to the WHO Director- General.
