WHO confirms coronavirus infection of 1.1 million worldwide

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The number of confirmed cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus infection in the world has reached 1,133,758. This was reported on April 5in a report by the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to the WHO, to date, 62,784 deaths due to coronavirus caused by COVID-19 are reported worldwide. Over the past day, 5,798 people died from a new type of pneumonia.

It is noted that over the past 24 hours, 82,061 new infections were detected in the world. The greatest increase in the number of patients with COVID-19 over the last day was recorded in the USA – 32 105 cases, in Spain – 7026, in Germany – 5936, in Italy – 4805, in France – 4221, in the UK – 3735 and Turkey – 3013.

According to WHO, the first case of coronavirus infection was reported in the Falkland Islands (Malvinas).

Recall that on April 4, the WHO reported 79 332 new cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus, including 28 103 cases detected in the USA, 7472 in Spain, 6082 in Germany, 5209 in France and 4585 in Italy.
