(ORDO NEWS) — The World Health Organization (WHO) rates the risk of monkeypox spread globally as “moderate”.
It is reported by ORDO News with reference to the statement of the organization.
At the same time, WHO does not exclude that the situation may worsen.
“At present, the overall public health risk at the global level is assessed as moderate,” the organization said.
It is also noted that cases of infection are mainly recorded among men who practice same-sex sex.
The WHO also suggests that the virus may have circulated undetected for weeks or longer.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden urged everyone to start worrying about the spread of monkeypox.
