Wanchu bridge collapses in Bhutan

(ORDO NEWS) — The bridge was being built by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) of India as part of the Indo-Bhutanese Friendship Project. The Wanchu Bridge under construction collapsed, leaving three workers dead and six missing. Prime Minister of Bhutan regrets this

The 204-meter Vanchu bridge collapsed on the Damchu-Haa road, the construction of which was close to completion. The bridge on the 12 km Damchu-Haa connecting road connects to the Chuzom-Haa road in Vanakha, Paro and is being built as part of the DANTAK project.

Six out of nine workers are still missing. Three workers’ bodies were found at the site of the Wanchu Bridge collapse.
