US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Turkish authorities announced the start of the tourism season in a pandemic. Hotels that fulfill these requirements will receive health certificates, said Turkish Minister of Tourism and Culture Mehmet Ersoy.

Hotels in Turkey will be the first to meet Turkish tourists in May, and when international air traffic resumes, Turkey will allow citizens from countries where the number of patients with COVID-19 to decline. According to Ersoy’s forecasts, the start of foreign tourism can be expected by the end of August.

New security measures will lead to higher prices for recreation: as expected, new measures will reduce hotel occupancy by 2 times, this will lead to a drop in income. To avoid losses, hoteliers will increase prices, said the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR).

Hotels are scheduled to open by the end of May. Among the security measures, distance will be the main one. Firstly, hotels will have to reduce the density of accommodation: it is allowed to populate only through one room, that is, only half of all hotel places.

Catering for tourists will be personalized with an order from a comprehensive menu – without self-service and various ” buffets”, “open buffets”.

The density of tables in restaurants, cafes is reduced taking into account the new standards of social distance. This also applies to discos, beaches, and other entertainment.

Sun loungers will be placed on the beaches to accommodate “through one” – at a distance of at least two meters from one vacationer to another. For families can offer relaxation areas on the beach or pool. Accommodation through the “through one” principle will also affect transport in Turkey.
