US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The US administration has evidence that the new coronavirus allegedly began to spread from a laboratory in Wuhan. This statement was made on Sunday on ABC television by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

When asked whether he saw any evidence in favor of this version, the head of the US foreign department answered: “There is serious evidence that it started there. We said from the very beginning that this is a virus that appeared in Chinese Wuhan”.

China has previously infected the world, they have had laboratories that do not meet standards. This is not the first time that the world has been exposed to a virus that has appeared due to errors in the Chinese laboratory,” Pompeo claimed. “The intelligence community is still working. It should continue to do this and conduct checks so that we are sure. I can state that there is considerable evidence that this came from a laboratory in Wuhan,” he added.

When asked about whether, in his opinion, the virus was created artificially, Pompeo replied: “Apparently, the best experts still believe that it was created by man. I have no reason not to believe this at this stage.” He did not explain which experts were in question. The Secretary of State ignored the words of an ABC journalist that previously received information according to which the US intelligence community does not believe that the virus was created artificially.

The US Secretary of State also once again stated that the Chinese authorities tried to hide some of the information about the spread of coronavirus.

China position

Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Yucheng said in an interview with reporters on NBC on April 29 that any claims for compensation made to Beijing in connection with the coronavirus are ridiculous and constitute a “political farce.” The diplomat also regretted that “some politicians use the virus situation to defame China.” At the same time, he again emphasized that Beijing “did not hide any information” about coronavirus.

In April, Zhao Lijian, the spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, also stated that the version of the artificial creation of the coronavirus was not supported by any evidence. So he commented on the publication of the American television channel Fox News that the first employee of the laboratory in Wuhan was infected with the coronavirus.
