US announced a competition to create AI for an unmanned slave
(ORDO NEWS) — As part of the new competition, participants will need to create prototypes of software that would allow drones to operate effectively in conjunction with fighter aircraft.
Systems must be implemented using the modular principle: the functionality for UAVs can be added by downloading new modules without a complete update of the “firmware”.
Applications for participation in the new competition will be accepted until June 15 this year. Issues related to the tender and the control of participants are within the competence of the Air Force Research Laboratory.
It is worth saying that the concept of an unmanned slave for a manned combat vehicle is very popular these days. Recall that in May, Boeing spent rolling out a prototype of one of these devices intended for the Royal Australian Air Force.
The test drone, called the Loyal Wingman, intend to begin this year. In the future, he will be able to carry a variety of equipment and perform a wide range of tasks.
