(ORDO NEWS) — One of the strangest cases in ufology involves a supposed alien encounter reported by farmer Joe Simonton.
We have heard many strange stories over the years, but this one is something amazing.
This incident took place on April 18, 1961, when the owner of an Eagle River poultry farm in Simonton, Wisconsin, USA, claimed to have seen a shiny metal object land near his home.
A 54-year-old man described how the ship opened and a humanoid creature came out.
At first, the otherworldly visitor simply showed him that he wanted something to drink, so Simonton grabbed a cup from the kitchen, filled it with water, and gave it to the creature.
However, the situation quickly took an absurd turn. One of the aliens reportedly entered the farmer’s house, grabbed a frying pan and started baking pancakes.
The entities then returned to their ship and flew away, knocking over a pine tree during the ascent.
Simonton’s account of what happened will be investigated by Professor J. Allen Hynek of Project Blue Book, who invited him to dinner and questioned him about what happened.
Samples of pancakes made by aliens were even sent for analysis, but later the results showed that there was nothing special about them – they were ordinary pancakes.
Eventually, it was concluded that Simonton had probably experienced some kind of psychotic episode and that he was, in fact, hallucinating the whole thing.
“The conclusion from the Project Blue Book ledger for the report is that Simonton was hallucinating,” wrote author Charles Lear.
“This is a rare case where the mental state of a witness is used as an explanation.
Whether those involved in flying saucers agree with this explanation or not, the Air Force cannot be accused of ignoring this case.”
