Unusual China beach
(ORDO NEWS) — There is a red beach in China.
In the delta of the Liaohe River, near the cities of Panjin and Yingkou (Liaoning Province, China), there is the Shuantai Hekou Nature Reserve. It is there that you can see the Red Beach. Sea red algae grow on the beach. Every year in April and May, they begin to bloom, turning green.
Then gradually these plants acquire a reddish hue, and in September the algae become blood-red. The red beach attracts tourists not only because of its color, but also because it is a favorite spot for many migratory birds. It is home to 236 species of birds and more than 30 of them are under state protection.
