Two Tu-95MS flew over the Barents and Norwegian seas

(ORDO NEWS) — Two Tu-95MS strategic bombers carried out a scheduled flight over the Barents and Norwegian seas, they were accompanied by Su-30SM fighters, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Thursday.

“Two long-range strategic missile carriers Tu-95MS carried out a planned flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian seas. The flight duration was about 4 hours. Fighter escort was provided by the crews of Su-30SM aircraft of the Aerospace Forces,” the department noted.

As the commander of long-range aviation, Lieutenant General Sergei Kobylash , emphasized, “the flight was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.”

Long-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black and Baltic Seas, and the Pacific Ocean.
