Tourism in Japan collapsed by 99.9%
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Tourism in Japan in April fell by 99.9%, according to the National Tourism Organization.
During the reporting month, only 2 thousand 900 foreign tourists were registered in the country, and the reduction became the most massive since 1964.
But then the number of tourists exceeded 17.5 thousand people, and below 10 thousand the figure fell for the first time.
The closure of borders and restrictions on movement led to the fact that the once prosperous industry was completely paralyzed.
Recall that on April 3, the country’s authorities imposed a ban on entry for citizens of almost 100 countries, including China, the USA and Europe.
