(ORDO NEWS) — NASA astronomers have noticed that the Sun gives off a wonderful, joyful smile.
Of course, the “smile” we see here is not really a real smile. Before us are coronal holes (dark spots), from which fast streams of the solar wind escape into space.
The particular proportions of this gleeful smirk bear a striking resemblance to the facial configuration of the legendary villain from the legend of the Ghostbusters, the marshmallow man Sty Puft.
This “cheerful smiley” spews a triple stream of solar wind onto Earth. The first contact with this solar wind stream will occur on October 29, which will cause the occurrence of geomagnetic storms.
