US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — German experts managed to explain exactly where the radioactive cloud came from, which was recorded over Europe three years ago.
In the fall of 2017, a huge cloud was discovered over Europe that contained ruthenium-106. Almost all security agencies began to panic due to such an unusual occurrence. Initially, it was assumed that the cloud was of military origin, but the authorities of no state began to take on such responsibility.
Researchers from Hanover and the University of Westphalia found that this cloud did not appear directly from military sources. Most experts are convinced that the cause could be civilian nuclear activities.
The most plausible explanation for what is happening is that at some plant that is involved in the processing of nuclear fuel, an accidental release of a huge amount of ruthenium could occur. As a result of this, a strange cloud appeared, which haunts specialists for almost three years.
At the moment, experts were able to determine exactly how many ruthenium isotopes in the cloud are stable. Also established the amount of radioactive substance. Through such a study, it was possible to find out that the isotopic ratio of ruthenium is fully consistent with the signature of the source of civilian origin.
At the same time, ruthenium stood out from the nuclear power plant and has the signature of spent nuclear fuel. This reassured scientists a little, but at the moment they do not know how to eliminate the cloud so that it does no harm to anyone.
