(ORDO NEWS) — Francisco Diego, a scientist at the University of California, made a surprise statement that a huge number of discovered factors point to the existence of life on Mars in the past. Perhaps there is life on the Red Planet today.
Francisco Diego revealed that he conducted a study that showed that atmospheric pressure is present around the planet. It is it that allows you to keep the required amount of liquid water on the planet’s surface.
The expert is confident that signs of life on the planet and evidence of this will be found immediately after the astronauts land on the surface.
The scientist made such a statement on Monday, when the first mission was sent to Mars by the United Arab Emirates.
It is worth noting that today there are eight active missions at once that are engaged in the study of the Red Planet. Some are studying Mars from orbit, while others are conducting detailed studies of its surface. This year, the United States and China are going to send another mission to Mars.
The Emirates Mars mission cost specialists about $ 200 million. These figures were told by Sara Amiri, Minister of Advanced Sciences of the UAE.
The mission was created in order to get the most complete picture of the state of the atmosphere of the Red Planet and to study not only daily, but also seasonal changes that may occur in it.
The UAE announced back in 2014 that it was going to launch a mission to Mars. It is worth noting that the country has a huge number of foreign workers and very little scientific base.
Despite the lack of scientific experts and various kinds of materials, the country’s leadership is going to complete the construction of the first settlement on the Red Planet by 2117.
