(ORDO NEWS) — International Business Machines (IBM) has announced that it is completely exiting the Russian market.
Representatives of the company reported this to the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov in response to his letter. Fedorov published the answer in his telegram channel.
IBM completely withdraws from the Russian market. Thanks for keeping the peace! And how does Russia imagine itself without software and hardware from IBM?
Fedorov noted.
In his letter to Mikhail Fedorov, CEO Arvind Krishna explained that IBM does not sell any technology to the aggressor country , and also does not have any business with Russian military organizations.
Krishna also shared details on how the company is helping Ukrainians. For example, IBM provided relocation of employees and their families and psychological support.
Among other things, the company organized a fundraiser among employees and promised to double their charitable contributions.
By the way, the Russian authorities are actively discussing the legalization of piracy. In a country that is heavily sanctioned on all sides, they want to abolish criminal and administrative liability for the use of pirated software. However, using the programs will become much more difficult without computers.
