Summer snowstorm hit Xinjiang, China

(ORDO NEWS) — Shepherds in Tekes County, the northwestern Chinese Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, suffered heavy losses after a real winter blizzard hit Monday, the temperature dropped sharply, resulting in the deaths of more than 400 domestic animals across the county.

Snowfall also disrupted traffic in the Nile county of Ili-Kazakh Autonomous Region. More than 400 tourists with 130 cars were stuck either in the Tangbra mountains or on the Dushanzi-heap highway that runs through the Tien Shan mountain.
