(ORDO NEWS) — One of the latest predictions of the legendary modern theoretical physicist, cosmologist, astrophysicist, writer and popularizer of science Stephen William Hawking (January 8, 1942 – March 14, 2018) says that in the foreseeable future there will be a serious threat to human civilization – the race of “superhumans”.

The foundation of the race of “superhumans”, according to Hawking’s prediction, will be laid by the richest people on Earth, who will resort to progressive genetic engineering to edit the DNA of their future children.

This will cause the rich to instigate a new breed of people who will dominate the rest of humanity.

“Superhumans” in comparison with ordinary people will have a fantastic memory and intelligence, impenetrable immunity and life expectancy, measured in centuries.

Genetic manipulation will exacerbate the already frightening inequality that will divide our civilization into two camps: ordinary people and superhumans.

This, as Professor Hawking argued, will begin in the 21st century.

Stephen Hawking believed that the appearance of the first “superhumans” would lead to tougher laws governing gene experiments on humans, but this would not work, because everything would be decided by money.

There will be many clandestine laboratories that will work with one goal – to satisfy the growing demands of “superhumans”.

“I am sure that already in this century people will learn to modify the intellect and key instincts.

The emergence of “superhumans” will provoke new political and economic problems,” said Stephen Hawking.

The scientist was sure that in the end, ordinary people would simply die out or turn into an insignificant unit of society, and “superpeople” would continue to rapidly improve their bodies.
