(ORDO NEWS) — Private space company Launcher has demonstrated the full thrust of its fully 3D printed E-2 engine for the first time. Launcher is working on a Launcher Light rocket that will carry a payload of up to 150 kilograms into orbit.
The E-2 engine chamber is completely 3D printed from copper alloy. The Launcher uses the AMCM M4K printer to assemble parts of the propulsion system.
Although the Launcher Light rocket will not be reusable, the company hopes to create a reusable version with nine engines and a reusable first stage in the future.
