US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Bakkt, the crypto-startup of Intercontinental Exchange, has announced that the American coffee chain Starbucks is starting to test its payment solution Bakkt Cash in its mobile application.
On Twitter, Adam White, President of Bakkt , said that ” Bakkt Cash ” had resulted in lower payment costs for traders.
Open your Starbucks app to see our first direct integration and select Bakkt Cash to sign up for our early access program,” he added, illustrating his tweet with a screenshot.
Currently offered to a limited number of Starbucks customers , the solution could soon be rolled out on a large scale.
Starbucks continues to be a strategic launch partner of Bakkt in the development of applications that allow customers to convert their digital assets to US dollars for use at Starbucks. We anticipate that a range of cryptocurrencies will gain ground,” commented a Starbucks spokesperson on The Block.
Unveiled for the first time in 2018, the Bakkt app aims to facilitate payments with digital assets like Bitcoin.
Earlier this week, Bakkt raised an additional $ 300 million from several existing investors like Microsoft’s M12 and Pantera Capital.
