(ORDO NEWS) — The SpaceX rocket, carrying 53 Starlink satellites, launched last Friday from the spaceport site located in California, USA.
The Falcon 9 rocket took off from the Vandenberg base at 15:07 local time, and a minute later the first stage landed on a floating platform located in the Pacific Ocean, while the second stage continued to low Earth orbit.
SpaceX later tweeted that the satellites had been successfully placed in orbit.
The Starlink constellation is a space-based satellite system that SpaceX has been building over the years to provide Internet access to the world‘s sparsely populated areas.
SpaceX, headquartered in California, has hundreds of Starlink satellites in orbit around the Earth at an altitude of about 550 kilometers.
