(ORDO NEWS) — A severe sandstorm hit Kandahar, Afghanistan. Strong winds and dry weather combined to create widespread sand and dust storms that hit the city of Kandahar, as well as the surrounding areas and the province of Helmland.
Residents were forced to return to their homes as air quality deteriorated. The buildings were damaged by strong winds and flying debris.
Traffic was halted due to reduced visibility, causing delays throughout the city. Businesses were forced to close due to increased winds.
