Serious cholera outbreak could happen in Mariupol – British intelligence

(ORDO NEWS) — For quite a long time, one can already hear talk about the fact that a serious outbreak of cholera could happen in Mariupol.

Today, the streets of the city are filled with garbage, a variety of waste and corpses. In addition, there are no conditions for the normal existence of people.

It should be noted that the occupiers do not allow residents of Mariupol to leave the occupied city and go to those territories that are under the control of Ukraine.

“There is a serious shortage of medicines in Kherson, and in Mariupol a cholera epidemic could break out at any moment. Back in May, isolated cases of the disease were reported in the city, ”said British intelligence.

The department says that Ukraine faced a cholera epidemic in 1995. After that, for all the time only small outbreaks of this disease were recorded, mainly on the shores of the Sea of Azov.

This region also includes Russian-occupied and destroyed Mariupol. In the city today there is a critical situation not only with medicines, but also directly with medical care.

A little more and collapse will come. If there is an outbreak of cholera, it will only aggravate the situation. The sick will simply die, because no one will be able to provide them with the necessary medical care.

Due to constant shelling in Mariupol, the centralized water supply, as well as sewerage, was completely destroyed.

There are thousands of dead bodies on the streets, which, due to the intense heat, decompose very quickly. In many yards there is a huge amount of sewage and garbage that no one has removed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.

Sewage enters the sea, so there are all conditions for the active reproduction of bacteria. There are no hospitals, experienced doctors and medicines in Mariupol.

On June 6, information appeared that the invaders were going to close the city for quarantine. They are afraid that the disease can also spread to the territory of Russia.

For example, several infectious diseases departments have already been opened in Rostov-on-Don. They are going to treat Russian soldiers who can become infected with cholera. At the same time, no one is going to help the residents of Mariupol.
