(ORDO NEWS) — An analysis of data from US cancer survivors found that those who sit for more than 8 hours daily are at high risk of early death. Read more about the research in the article.
Data on Americans who participated in the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2007 to 2014 showed that physical inactivity was associated with a higher likelihood of early death from any cause.
All information about this was published in the online edition of JAMA Oncology.
According to the results of the study, the risk of early death is highest (more than 5 times higher) if a person spends 8 or more hours a day in a sitting position.
However, scientists have yet to study the links between sedentary behavior, physical activity and cancer cure, and the mechanisms that regulate this relationship.
