(ORDO NEWS) — Scotland has announced plans to try out a four-day work week.

At the same time, the country will temporarily join Spain, New Zealand, Japan and Iceland, which have already moved to a four-day work week, which contributed to the increase in productivity.

Experts believe that shorter workweeks increase productivity and improve work-life balance.

A 20% reduction in working hours will not affect employee salaries, Forbes reports.

Earlier, when the New Zealand-based company tried out a four-day work week in 2018, it reported a 20 percent increase in productivity.
