(ORDO NEWS) — Scientists from Brazil have reconstructed the face of a man who lived approximately 35,000 years ago. The creators are called Moasir Santos and Cicero Moares.
The first works as an archaeologist, and the second as a graphics expert. These two people have done incredible work, the results of which have already flown around the world.
To create the face of an Egyptian as accurately as possible, a lot of work had to be done. Research on reproduction of a person’s age, gender, and social affiliation lasted the longest.
Since the unknown Egyptian lived approximately 30-35 thousand years ago, research work to collect the necessary information took a lot of time and effort.
The Egyptian lived long before the appearance of the first pharaohs. The first rulers appeared around 3000 BC. The restored sample saw Ancient Egypt as we can only imagine.
Experts say that such reconstructions are very important for anthropologists, historians and archaeologists.
They give an opportunity to see what people were like in the distant past. Remains are no longer perceived as skeletons. Now each of them can be given a human likeness.
First, scientists scanned the skull. After that, they created a computer three-dimensional model and began to restore muscles, eyes, skin, and hair on a virtual model.
Data on modern people had to be used to choose hair and skin color.
Skulls that have been well preserved to this day are suitable for such reconstructions. For example, Norwegian scientists prefer to restore the appearance of mutilated turtles.
Moares says that the portrait turned out to be as realistic as possible. Most likely, the ancient Egyptian looks as he was depicted: with dark hair, dark skin and plump lips.
The photo quickly went viral on the Internet. Today, this reconstruction is considered one of the most successful.
