(ORDO NEWS) — Scientists have predicted the extinction of 97% of all animals in Antarctica by 2100.
According to experts, the extinction is due to global warming on the planet. Emperor penguins and birds will be the most vulnerable.
“By taking a structured collaborative approach, we demonstrate that existing conservation efforts are not enough in a changing world,” the researchers noted.
Scientists have calculated that in order to save animals in Antarctica, it is necessary to increase financial support.
To implement an effective program until 2100, funding in the amount of 1.92 billion dollars is needed.
