Scientists have found that helps to think creatively
(ORDO NEWS) — Scientists from the University of Würzburg figured out what to do to improve creative thinking. Everything is pretty simple.
The study was conducted on 60 subjects. They participated in three experiments, in each it was necessary to solve the problem of alternative use of Guildford.
People were given a series of words for objects, such as a bandage, a brick, a chair, a table, a frying pan, a garbage bag, and so on. Participants had to come up with as many uses for these items as possible.
At the same time, in the first experiment, part of the volunteers could walk around the room, while the other part had to sit at the computer.
As a result, the first group of participants came up with more ways to use objects. In other experiments, people were allowed to either move freely around the room, or move only along a given route, or sit quietly in one place, or sit at a computer screen and fix their eyes on one point.The results were better for those who moved freely or simply sat.
Thus, creative thinking is facilitated by the absence of restrictions.
