Scientists have found a way to restore the sense of smell after COVID

(ORDO NEWS) — Canadian scientists have found a way to restore the sense of smell after coronavirus. This will help influencing the genes.

Experts have identified six genes that can be manipulated to restore the sense of smell. While drugs allow you to adjust only their work separately.

The next step of scientists will be the creation of a drug that affects the entire set of genes at once, Izvestia reports.

Neurologist Alexandra Tolsteneva noted that the discovery is extremely important, since the sense of smell is not always restored with the help of training and vitamin therapy.

“The method of influencing target proteins has a great future. This approach has already been successfully used in targeted therapy in oncology. And I’m sure we will soon get an effective new medicine, ”the doctor says.
