Scientists found out how the sun affects mortality from coronavirus

(ORDO NEWS) — Scientists from the University of Edinburgh have studied mortality in different regions of the United States. The statistics in the states where the sun was constantly shining turned out to be very interesting.

Experts said that with the arrival of heat, mortality from coronavirus will significantly decrease. The reason is in ultraviolet rays, which cause the skin to release protective chemicals.

Experts have compared mortality data in 2,474 US counties and correlated them with the level of ultraviolet radiation. As it turned out, in regions where the level of UV radiation was 95%, the number of deaths was 32% less. It is important to note that similar studies were conducted in the UK and Italy, and the results were identical.

Experts have come to the conclusion that nitric oxide produced by the skin protects against the virus. Thus, in summer one can expect a decrease not only in mortality, but also in the number of diseases. The sun also helps to improve the functioning of the cardiovascular system, reducing pressure.
