(ORDO NEWS) — Mathematicians are looking for numbers with unusual properties, and physicists are discovering that some numbers are somehow more important than we thought.
Scientists from the laboratory of Kastler Brossel in Paris reported that they had found the “number of God” – it underlies the Universe and, if the world is created, then this number is the basis of the Plan. Let’s talk about what we’re talking about.
Pythagoras was right
Once the Greek Pythagoras said that “everything is a number”, mathematics is the language of the Creator, and the world only seems to us, because in fact it consists of invisible numbers.
Then science rejected all this, and now it has returned. Mathematicians are looking for numbers with unusual properties, and physicists are discovering that some numbers are somehow more important than we thought.
Take pi. It seems to be: you divide the diameter of the circle by the circumference, and that’s it. But what if there is no circle, but the number pi is?
For example: take a sheet of paper with lines. We throw needles on the sheet, the more needles, the better. We count how many needles crossed the line.
Divide by 2. We get the number pi. Experience does not depend on either the length of the needles or the distance between the lines.
There are explanations (not mystical) why this is so, but they do not convince. Still, the number pi is special. But the speed of light with which Albert Einstein rushed – no. 300 thousand kilometers per second… Kilometers were invented by the French during the revolution.
Seconds – a Babylonian invention, even before our era. The speed of light can be expressed in kilometers per hour, inches per minute, whatever. Therefore, 300 thousand is not a special figure.
You already noticed: pi is a RATIO. One to another. The circle can be huge, small, whatever, the number pi will not change.
Therefore, it is necessary to look for a figure that will be the ratio of something to something and will not depend on millimeters and minutes invented by man.
And such a number was theoretically predicted at the beginning of the 20th century.
Fineness of structure
In 1916, the physicist Arnold Sommerfeld studied the lines emitted by atoms. These lines were surprisingly thin. And there was a connection between them.
Sommerfeld noticed that the lines go in increments of about 1/137. Without further ado (thin ones), Sommerfeld called this number the “fine structure constant” and generally did not attach any importance to it.
But it soon turned out that the lines of the atom split for a reason. They are forced to disperse, as it were, by the very space in which we are all immersed.
Space is filled with ephemeral particles that cannot be seen, because they either disappear instantly or are not observed in principle. Even vacuum is teeming with such particles (vacuum energy, heard)?
In fact, these particles, these forces are like reinforcement in concrete. Concrete is space, and invisible reinforcement holds it.
And this constant can be compared with the distance between the armatures, for example. If you remove this constant along with invisible particles, space will fall apart. The sky will roll up into a scroll. Yes! – like in the Bible.
Accuracy is a physicist’s courtesy
Physicists quickly realized how the fine structure constant is related to other mysterious numbers. With the number pi as well.
We take Planck’s constant first. This is the size below which the laws of our world end and the laws of the microworld begin, in which everything is different. We divide it by 2pi, and we get the Dirac constant (again, without pi, nowhere, but there is no circle!)
Then we divide the electron charge (and this is unity) by the product of the Dirac constant and the speed of light. And we get the “number of God” – approximately 1/137.
And it is necessary not approximately, but exactly! If the constant were 1/138, there would be no stars, they would simply not be able to “keep” space. But simply dividing the matter will not help much.
All these fundamental constants are known inaccurately: Planck, Dirac, and the speed of light.
It would be necessary not to calculate, but to measure the “number of God”. And so a team of physicists in Paris set about painstaking experiments that took 22 years.
Physicists have taken atoms of rubidium, bombarded them with light, and watched the atoms bounce off the light like a sheet of foil from the wind.
As a result, a result with an error of 80 per trillion was obtained. Attention, this figure is: 1/137.035999206. And now what to do with it?
Faith will tell
Physicists are no longer atheists, but by tradition they still play atheists. And they say this: There are many universes. But all, except ours, are not adapted for life.
The space is loose, viscous, dense, not that. And we have stars, and the Earth with seas and trees, and all thanks to the fact that like this, by chance, we have such a number. And not another.
But among themselves, scientists come to the conclusion that this number is the Plan of the Creator, and that is how, through the number, He conceived and created our Universe.
The ancient Greeks will again help to reconcile these versions. As the philosopher Heraclitus said, “God plays dice. It wins, it loses.”
That is, we understand now, it will create either a successful or an unsuccessful Universe. Einstein repeated everywhere that “God does not play dice.” He and Heraclitus, however, know better.
