(ORDO NEWS) — Scientists from the Blue Marble Space Science Institute and the American University in the US believe that aliens do not visit the solar system because the Sun is too boring.
Scientists have suggested that not all types of stars are desirable for an expanding technological civilization . Low-mass stars, especially K-type stars, are the best migration targets for long-lived civilizations.
“We hypothesize that an expanding civilization will settle in low-mass K- or M-dwarf systems, avoiding higher-mass stars to maximize their lifespan in the galaxy,” the researchers write.
Stars like M and K live long, several trillion years, while the Sun has only about 7 billion years left to exist, so it is not attractive to extraterrestrial civilization.
