S.African lawmakers vote to stoop diplomatic ties with Israel, shut embassy

South African lawmakers voted on Tuesday in favour of closing down the Israeli embassy in Pretoria and suspending all diplomatic family till a ceasefire is agreed in its warfare with Palestinian Islamist neighborhood Hamas in Gaza.

The resolution is basically symbolic as this will likely be up to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s executive whether to put into effect it; a presidency spokesperson didn’t instantly retort to a Reuters query for observation.
