(ORDO NEWS) — The “Blue Moon“, when two full moons fall at once for one month, will appear in the sky on October 31, a rare phenomenon can be observed in different time zones of Russia.
The moon will rise above the horizon at 0.49 (17.49 Moscow time) Vladivostok time on the night of Sunday, November 1.
A rare occurrence usually occurs every two to three years.
Contrary to the name, the moon will not glow blue on this day. The phenomenon got this name thanks to the English proverb “Once in a Blue Moon” – “once in a blue moon”, that is, extremely rarely or never.
