Russian FM wants to fine BBC

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova is outraged by how the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC, “carefully selecting words, expressions and emotions,” works to create a negative image of Russia in the world. In her opinion, the BBC should be fined for such activities.

“It’s kind of absurd,” the diplomat wrote on her Facebook , observing what the BBC writes and shows.

According to her, all the plots of the company: about medicine, measures of restriction, quarantine, self-isolation, cancellation of the parade – should “put an end to” the perception of Russia as part of global reality.

Zakharova recalled that the British regulator likes to fine the Russian media or threaten them with fines for unbalanced reporting. In this sense, in her opinion, it is high time to “get” to the BBC in order to evaluate its work. “No mercy, no compassion, only execution of the order,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.

She also encouraged the broadcaster to make more news about the UK. “Do not be shy, you have something to show,” Zakharova added.
