Russia commented on US allegations against China
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Russian senator Alexei Pushkov believes that the United States needs accusations of the PRC for the laboratory creation of a coronavirus to create an “external enemy effect” against the backdrop of the election race of US leader Donald Trump. He wrote about this on May 3 on his Twitter.
“The question is what they want to learn from the conflict. Most likely, the White House needs it to achieve its internal goal – the victory of Trump in the election,” said the senator.
On May 3, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the US authorities have evidence that the coronavirus originated in a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan. He accused the PRC of deliberately hiding information about the spread of the disease in the “classical style of communist disinformation.”
Earlier, Trump has repeatedly stated that he has information about creating a coronavirus in a laboratory in Wuhan.
In turn, the World Health Organization (WHO) insists on the natural origin of the infection.
An outbreak of COVID-19 disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus occurred in Wuhan, China, at the end of December last year.
On March 11, WHO announced a coronavirus pandemic.
