Rouhani praised Iran’s success in combating coronavirus
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Iran is better than the West in coping with coronavirus , while having an “sanction virus,” Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday at a meeting of the COVID-19 counter headquarters.
“Yes, the situation is better, the situation in countering coronavirus today is better than yours (Western countries – ed.). The reason lies in our wonderful people, the reason is the selfless struggle of medical personnel, the armed forces …”, said Rouhani.
At the same time, he called the situation with coronavirus in Iran “relatively good.”
“We and you have a coronavirus, but we have a worse virus that you don’t have. It is an sanctioned virus that has added a coronavirus,” added the president, whose statement was shown by Iranian television.
He added that this comparison may upset some countries, but “this is the reality.”
In Iran itself, at the moment since February 19, when the authorities first reported the coronavirus, 70,029 cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded, at least 4,357 people died. At the same time, nearly 42 thousand patients recovered.
