Robots will soon fill your car

(ORDO NEWS) — The robotic system can be connected to any fuel dispenser, excluding human intervention.

In an era when technology is taking over all areas of life, refueling has remained largely a mechanical process that requires the utmost attention from the car owner.

As a solution to this problem, the Danish company Autofuel offers a robotic refueling system that eliminates the participation of drivers.

The system is a robotic arm that dispenses fuel from a fuel dispenser. The app can also take care of customer identification and payments, making the whole process hands-free.

This system provides user-friendliness, essential support for the disabled, and support for future autonomous mobility.

According to the firm, the refueling process has remained unchanged for the past 70 years.

“During the same period, technology has advanced faster than ever and today we have fast internet, smart phones, AI assistants and self-driving cars coming to the roads soon,” their website says.

Robotic fueling is a growing business, and according to British analytics firm Insight, the European market alone is expected to grow to around $50 billion by 2028.

So far a slow but convenient process

The system requires users to register with vehicle details such as model, fuel type, payment details, and license plate. To facilitate this process, these vehicles will also need to install a special gas tank cap.

The screen will guide the driver to correctly park the vehicle in the designated refueling area. Once installed, the robotic arm will open the fuel tank cap and place the filling nozzle into the fuel tank.

The customer will be aware of the refueling process and will see a message on the screen when the robot completes refueling. The driver can leave as soon as the green light comes on.

The system will also be ready to use other fuels such as electricity, hydrogen, CNG and LNG.

Because the system is being added to an existing fuel dispenser, it is easier for the firm to meet the various energy needs that may come up in the near future.

Moreover, the customer can always choose automatic or manual refueling.
