(ORDO NEWS) — For the first time in history, members of the British House of Lords will hear a robot speak next week.
Ai-Da, a humanoid robot artist designed and built in the UK, will perform in the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster on October 11, 2022.
Ai-Da is equipped with cameras that replace his eyes, and he can speak and answer questions using a specially designed artificial intelligence (AI) language model.
Speaking to members of the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee, Ai-Da will talk about whether artistic creation is under attack from AI and technology amid the rapid development of neural networks, which can now generate high-quality images based on user requests.
Ai-Da’s speech in the House of Lords will explore the role of machine learning, machine creativity and artificial intelligence in the UK’s creative industries as fears rise around the world that artificial intelligence will soon be able to replace humans in many intellectual fields.
According to a recent New York University study, a third of AI scientists fear the coming catastrophe their industry will cause.
