(ORDO NEWS) — In the southeast of Romania, a rich burial from the era of the Great Migration of Peoples was discovered. In the grave, archaeologists found remains that apparently belonged to a Hun warrior who occupied a very high position.
The accompanying inventory of this man, who lived in the 5th century AD, included weapons, gold-studded items and jewelry.
Archaeologists noted that the grave was unearthed near the city of Mizil when preparing the territory for the construction of a highway.
The burial contained the skeleton of a man, who, it seems, was buried in a golden mask, the bones of a horse, as well as more than a hundred items.
Among them were an iron sword with a gilded scabbard, a dagger with a handle decorated with gold and semi-precious stones, arrowheads and other things. According to researchers, this burial can be interpreted as “princely”.
