(ORDO NEWS) — The European Space Agency (ESA) has released two videos taken from images from the Mars Express space probe, showing the orbital dance of the Red Planet’s moons Phobos and Deimos, as well as Jupiter.
On February 14, 2022, Mars Express recorded an interesting event – Deimos covered Jupiter and its four largest satellites.
A video released by the ESA shows how the moon of Mars alternately closes Europa, Ganymede, Jupiter, Io and Callisto.
At the time of the survey, they were at a distance of 750 million kilometers from the probe.
A little over a month later, on March 30, 2022, Mars Express recorded Phobos making a similar maneuver to cover Deimos. This time, Mars Express was only 12 kilometers from Phobos.
