(ORDO NEWS) — Pope Francis announced the start of World War III. The pontiff said this in a conversation with the leaders of the Jesuit publications in Europe, the newspaper La Stampa writes.
Francis recalled: a few years ago he said that we are living the third world war in parts.
“Today, I believe, World War III has been declared,” he said.
The Pope urged to think about what is happening to humanity, which “survived three world wars in a century.”
He pointed out that conflicts are taking place not only in Ukraine, but also in Nigeria, Congo, Myanmar, but “no one cares about this.” Francis recalled the skirmishes in Rwanda that took place 25 years ago and stressed that the world is at war.
Pope Francis has repeatedly shocked Catholics with his statements. For example, in 2020 he became the first pontiff to advocate for the legalization of same-sex civil unions. He spoke about his position in the documentary “Francesco”.
