(ORDO NEWS) — The US Department of Defense has decided to form a working group to investigate the unidentified flying objects encountered by the Air Force pilots, CNN reports, citing sources in the military.
“Deputy Defense Secretary David Norkvist will oversee the working group, which is expected to be officially presented in the coming days,” the channel said.
CNN recalls that in July, concern over unidentified flying objects was expressed in the US Congress, where it was not ruled out that these objects may be of terrestrial origin and be a means of intelligence for “potential adversaries.”
Over the years after the Second World War, the United States has formed several times groups of various levels to study UFOs.
At the end of April, the Pentagon posted videos on its website showing “unidentified phenomena.”
According to the department, one of the three unclassified videos of the US Navy was filmed in November 2004, the other two – in January 2015. All of them in 2007 and 2017 got on the Internet without the Pentagon’s sanction, their authenticity was recognized by the Navy. Later, the military published several reports in which pilots talk about UFO encounters between June 27, 2013 and February 13, 2019.
In June, US President Donald Trump announced that he knew a lot of interesting things about the alleged UFO crash in New Mexico in 1947 and did not rule out that information about this incident could be declassified. In various sources, the version gained popularity that the object that crashed near the city of Roswell was an extraterrestrial ship, and its pilot was an alien, which the US government captured and classified. According to the official position of the US Air Force, the object discovered in Roswell was a weather balloon used as part of a secret program.
