Omicron is of animal origin: new study

(ORDO NEWS) — Scientists from the University of M Medical School and the director of the Center for the Study of the Coronavirus conducted a study that gave more insight into Omicron.

There is a high probability that it is of animal origin and is capable of infecting many species.

Scientists say the following: Research has shown that Covid-19 can infect many species of animals. This is the main reason that new variants of the virus appear regularly.

In this regard, scientists insist on increased monitoring of rodents. This can prevent the evolution of a viral infection.

When Covid-19 first appeared, scientists could not establish for a long time: how it was transmitted, where it came from.

There were different versions, but most experts were inclined to the fact that it was transmitted from a bat to a person.

Many scientific works were aimed at confirming this theory. They finally have definitive confirmation.

“The transmission of the coronavirus from an animal to a person will continue.

This poses a strong threat to the global health of all mankind. There is an assumption that all the coronaviruses that are circulating today come from animals,” said Dr. Fang Li.

Conducting a structural and biological analysis helped to identify several mutations in the spike-like proteins of Omicron.

They are unique because they are adapted to the mouse receptor, but incompatible with humans. This may indicate that the disease is originally of animal origin.

This is a very important stage in the evolution of Covid-19 , when the spike protein binds to the host receptor and adapts to it.

Scientists call micron mutations an evolutionary trace left by a virus during transmission from one biological species to another. Research has helped to recover these subtle traces and identify them.
