(ORDO NEWS) — A nine-year-old fossil-obsessed girl discovered a 700,000-year-old bear tooth on a beach. A girl named Etta found him in the summer, writes BBC, in West Runton in Norfolk.
More fossils have been unearthed here over the past decade as erosion of the coast’s soft glacial cliffs has accelerated.
“I thought it was a petrified piece of wood, so I put it in my pocket, and when we got back to the car park, we showed it to the fossil expert and she “fell off her chair.”
She said, “People have been looking for 20 years and they don’t find anything like it.” She immediately determined that it was a bear tooth, ”said Etta.
