
Nikkei index rose 2% in the hope of postponing the Olympics

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The Japanese Nikkei index rebounded steadily on Monday after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) first talked about the possibility of postponing the Olympics, rather than canceling them.
Nikkei rose 2.0% to 16.887.78 points, moving from a minimum of three and a half years at 16.378.94 points reached last Tuesday.
The wider Topix rose 0.7% to 1,292.01 points.
