Australian Brenton Tarrant, accused of committing a terrorist attack in the mosques of the New Zealand city of Christchurch , pleaded guilty to the killing of 51 people, according to the newspaper New Zealand Herald.
According to the publication, the 29-year-old Tarrant admitted during a video speech at a court hearing in Christchurch that he committed the killing of 51 people during a shooting in two mosques in the city.
In two Christchurch mosques (South Island, New Zealand ) on March 15, shooting occurred, as a result of which 51 people were killed and about 50 were injured. The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, called the incident a terrorist attack.
The murder charges were brought against 28-year-old Australian Brenton Tarrant, who filmed the attack on one of the mosques and broadcast live on social networks.
