(ORDO NEWS) — Times Square could be the site of New York’s next casino. Caesars Entertainment is trying to increase the chances of getting a license.

The company said that the casino will provide nearby areas with a drone surveillance system.

In a letter to support the casino, real estate developer SL Green and Caesars Entertainment said the gambling proceeds could be used to more than double the number of “public safety officers” in Times Square and deploy drones.

It will also see more than 50 new AI camera systems “strategically placed throughout Times Square, each capable of monitoring 85,000+ people a day,” the companies say.

Security experts are not very happy about this initiative.

“At a time when our cars, subways and buses are under surveillance like never before, the addition of a new fleet of drones and AI cameras will make it impossible for us to even walk down the street without being watched,” said Albert Fox Kahn, executive director of the Surveillance Project. surveillance technologies (STOP).
